A long, long time ago, way back when this blog was just a little babby, I went over all the absolutely delightful little buddies from Wario’s Woods. I mentioned the bosses from the NES version in passing, but decided they weren’t quite interesting enough for their own post. But now, the more I think about it… I simply must make an exception!
It’s true, the bosses are all pretty much just typical existing fantasy monsters. But Seizer? Seizer is a skeleton with a robe. This is still a typical existing fantasy monster, yes, but it’s objectively one of the best ones!
Look at his face. He’s nervous. He’s humble. He’s shy. He probably doesn’t really want to be here. He also holds some kind of book, so we can assume he’s a big nerd… he’s relatable, is what I’m getting at here.
Also, as a boss in Wario’s Woods, he is under the jurisdiction of Wario! Was Wario able to somehow recruit Death himself? Or is this simply a big ol’ skeleton who’s trying to disguise himself as Death to be more threatening? Whichever is funnier, I guess!
